I heard one of the big turning points in Washlet adoption was a commercial that showed something like a hand holding some chocolate. The chocolate is eaten but there is a stain left on the hand. The person takes a tissue and rubs and rubs and rubs trying to get it clean but of course it never comes clean. Cut to picture of Washlet.
I don't think it was quite as graphic as chocolate but it does seem like a very effective commercial. Once you've seen it it would be hard to go back to just wiping your ass with TP.
