I see that Dopplr has announced their early-stage financing from Martin Varsavsky, Joichi Ito, Reid Hoffman and The Accelerator Group led by Saul Klein. The TechCrunch crowd is skeptical but they don’t understand the whole picture yet, I’m sure.
I’m a beta Dopplr user and would be happy to give out invites to whomever reads my blog (or drops me email) and leaves me a kind comment to this post.
Techcrunch often doesn’t understand the whole picture. They initially said Ning.com was a total waste.

I work as a new media specialist in the travel industry and JUST found out about Dopplr (what have I been doing with my time? Shameful.). Agree with Chang–I try not to put too much stock in what TechCrunch’s users say and prefer to check things out for myself. That said, if you have any more invitations lying around, I’d love one.
Oh, and thanks for the Bruce Lee screen test post–crazy interesting.
