Why don't you want to remember? I d*** well do. You can't put your head in the sand and wish it wasn't so. And not just 9/11. I'd remember that as the apex, but you should also remember a few choice other "incidents", in no particular order:

Embassy in Tehran
USS Cole
Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia
Marine Corps Barracks in Beirut
