THE DUCATI HYPERMOTARD CONCEPT BIKE

The Ducati Hypermotard – a radical concept bike – takes power, aggressiveness, versatility, and sport performance to a new extreme.

Taking advantage of the compactness and agility of a traditional supermotard, Ducati has upped the ante with potent street power thanks to a new air-cooled twin engine. The front of the bike is as slim and compact as a single cylinder, in part thanks to the engine layout, but also due to the absence of weighty cooling radiators.

The Ducati Hypermotard takes-on urban canyons and attacks mountain curves with total abandon. High performance starts with attitude. Pared down to its essentials, the Ducati Hypermotard is an extreme performance, over-the-top motorcycle. Its purpose is single minded – to thrill.

Incredibly slim, compact and exceptionally light, with riding position to dominate, it’s ready to rock every road with big-bore acceleration.

Supermotard styling makes the blood boil. This bike offers what no Supermotard can: speeds exceeding 220KPH on the race track, fuel injection and 100 horsepower on only 175 kg of dry weight.

The Ducati Hypermotard – the most extreme mountain conquering, urban assaulting machine ever from Ducati.

On the Road

Bring on the curves, the bumps, the unexpected.

A rigidly triangulated tubing Trellis frame and track tested chassis geometry is matched with state-of-the-art suspension. Start off with the road-holding of huge 50mm Marzocchi R.A.C. forks, gripped by a triple screw lower fork crown, then add an Ohlins remote reservoir shock that mounts to a stout single-sided swingarm. Ultra light forged and machined Marchesini racing wheels are paired with a single radial mounted Brembo four piston, four pad calliper gripping a 320mm disc up front and a 240mm disc at the rear.

Making power

1000cc’s of DESMO power
The 1000 Dual Spark engine pumps out torque and horsepower that is smooth and linear, because the roads that the Ducati Hypermotard seeks are neither smooth nor linear. A Slipper type racing clutch makes aggressive downshifting and heavy braking more exciting and by damping the abrupt engagement of lower gears while entering a turn. Magnesium engine covers subtract more weight for a feathery feel and athletic manoeuvres.

Pilot controls

A ride on the Ducati Hypermotard is road domination.
The wide tapered section handlebars transfer control of the tarmac to the rider. A wide full length seat design lets the pilot move fore and aft, up-front entering the turns, back for maximum traction on exit.

Ducati Hypermotard – two wheels, one purpose – to thrill.Founded in 1926, Ducati builds racing-inspired motorcycles characterized by unique engine features, innovative design, advanced engineering and overall technical excellence. Ducati has won eleven of the last thirteen World Superbike Championship titles and more individual victories than the competition put together. The Company produces motorcycles in five market segments which vary in their technical and design features and intended customers: Superbike, Supersport; Monster, Sport Touring and Multistrada. Gen, you keep posting stuff like this and you're going to get me thinking about picking up a license again!

Heyyy I love this ducati !! what a beautiful bike !!!

I have a french blog ! come on it when you can !
Bye

This bike is great-how soon can Ducati produce them? Cheers to an ergonomic layout for those of us ride dirt bikes we should be right at home on this Italian beauty.

bella moto come sempre gli studi di stile sono ottimi,ma quei motori(2v) nn sapete più cosa farne.
tengo a precisare che sono attualmente poss. di una 955 racing

At last, a bike that I've dreamed of, looks fantastic,Australia will go for it. Lets do it

This is a riders bike. No passengers here. Straight forward "Hot Rod" for the true biker that wants "borderline trouble with the law". This bike will relieve all stress and make one feel they are "One with the Universe". By all the powers that be, I pray, I beg, to the Ducati all powerfull, Make this bike a production item.

This is a bike that could tempt me off my MZ Baghira Supermotard. My MZ is a 660 single (now 676 cc) that made about 42 hp (now 55 at the wheel) and 40 fp (now 54). With the same weight, this Duck makes 100 hp. Yowza! Note the turn signals and mirrors incorporated into the hand guards (folded in in these pictures). Look at the line of that front mud guard continuing the line of the tank. Look at the bend of the exhaust. Drool....

i ride a ccm r30 supermotard (650cc single) i love this bike, i must have one....

ooh my god i pray that ducati makes this a production item. this has to be one of the most beautiful bike i have ever seen!!!

wow man this bike is AWESOME!! XX

WOOOW! This is the bike for me ! If DUCATI starts makeing it , it could be the next MONSTER, make a fortune to the factory!!!

it's pure porn !!!!!!!!!!!I got the same buzz off the hypermotard I got with the suzuki katana the very first time > if there really is love at first sight ! I got to get one of these or die trying

just talked with my local Ducati dealer yesterday. proudly i'm first in line to recieve the first HyperMotard they get in. i just hope i dont go insane playing the waiting game.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is THE Bike i have been waiting for...
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are going to produce this bike for real. I put my name on "the list" a few weeks ago......time for some wheelies.

I'm number 3 on this waiting list here in San Diego. Absolutely gorgeous! This is the bike I think of every day and I have a couple of VFR's and an Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce. I just can't wait to ride this one.

This will my next bike. I cant wait til next year. Curently ride a 749R Ducati. Hope this will be as much fun to own.

Hey Gen, How's it going? I've heard some cool stuff from my dealer...1100cc's, smaller than a current R6, twin radial brakes with Brembo Monoblock calipers, Ohlins on the S model...around 14Gs for the S...My money is down...I'll have the first one in.

I dont have money to buy it.I kill myself.

I'm first on the list to get one, I'm first on the list to get one, I'm first on the list to get one...........

amazing... dragon bike... the Italians know design... I pray I get one...
just the thing for the Arizona Canyons...

As beautifully executed as this machine is, if there's a downside, and hence downfall - it'll be the range that can be travelled on a tank of gas.

In sport touring, you rarely need to exceed 200 miles on a single tank of fuel: first, you really need to stop and grab your ass good to get the feeling back, and get the stiffness out of your body. Which is also a good time to re-fuel. But my riding friend on his CCM motard, he gets nervous when he doesn't come across a gas station after about 80 miles. This may not be so bad in the urban setting, but it seems to me he's forever filling up.

The Ducati Hypermotard had better provide reasonable range on a tank of fuel. It would be a surprize but also great if the Hypermotard can do about 170 miles on a tank. This would do it for me!

i am the 14th person to make a deposit on the Hypermotard from the NYC Ducati store. the Hypermotard was on hand along with the the 1098, 1098s Tricolore, the NCR "New Blue", two 1980's F1's and the Desmosedici RR.

seeing it in person really locked it in for me. the Hypermotard is a very hot bike, i had to have it.

the bike on hand had a wooden seat and an engine case full of lead, not pistons. still a prototype, but they took my deposit all the same =)

check out my crappy camera phone photos of the party and the hottest bikes of the year.

This photo "Set" is dedicated to the production details of the bike, which have not been released and contains several spy photos and bike show shots that hint at the specifications for the production the bike.

Keep in mind there is around a bike called KTM SM 950...

I have been waiting for the launch of this bike for around a year. Finally I saw the pre-production model at the motorcycle show in Belfast on Sunday. I couldnt believe how small it was. I love it and I want one and would've put a deposit down immediately expecting delivery around the end of June. Only one very big problem stopped me, forget the fancy trick stuff i.e. forks, engine, wheels, brakes, or even the spectacular looks, did anyone take a look at the welding on the trellis frame. Ducati must have either recruited Japanese welders from the 1960's or 6 year olds to do it. It's atrocious, maybe they just forgot to knock the slag of the welds before painting it. I know its a pre-production SHOW model but surely this would have been a better reason for it to have been perfect considering thousands of people will have seen it over the last few months. I for sure will be waiting to see a production model before I order mine. Ducati actually unashamedly have a clear picture of this frame on their web site under features. I honestly hope they will fix this.

DUCATI é sinônimo de modernidade, estilo e exclusividade. É o que existe de melhor quando falamos de motocicletas

Why cant the fuel tank be slightly bigger say 15 liters on the new ducati hypermotard

well well well! hypercool! Raced through the 90's. Haven't bought a new bike sence the 998.
Couldn't resist this one! bought two! I know I will burn one up lap after lap at Firebird or NM.
I've been riding mostly motocross, dying to get back on street...what a segue! I think I'll take it to the dirt track down by the city landfill and slide the heck out of it!!! LONG OVERDUE and no the KTM can't be compared. rode it, it is chained by comparison
