i wish JAL would bring back their "tsuru" logo from the 1970s. the current one is too stylized and boring.

Agreed. There was a grace and elegance - a deco style - to the older airline logos. This is true not just of JAL, but Delta and the other big American carriers as well. There was an austere edge that their marketing departments seem to want to soften. I know I try to do my part to restore the grace and elegance to air travel of your by drinking a scotch, a Manhattan or a martini whenever I fly and I'd encourage you to do the same.

I'd go a little farther and say that I'd like to see the abolition of jetways as well - I prefer crossing the tarmac and climbing the airstair. I think that insulating people from the grandeur of the aircraft is wrong. Seeing the sheer, massive size of these things is heartening. And, they really are cool.
