Japan Media Review on blog trends

| | Comments (1)

Japan Media Review has two interesting articles on blog trends in Japan. The first is basically a translation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications May 2005 white paper on blogs and SNSs in Japan.

Japanese Blogosphere Catching Up

The next is a discussion of the impact of blogging in Japan.

Their Numbers May Be Increasing, But Will Japanese Bloggers Have Impact?

I have a bunch of opinions about weblogs in Japan, but I'm going to save them for another day.

Dear Gen,

I would be very curious to hear what you think of blogs in Japan. I have written two posts recently about blogs and journalism, in conversation with Japan Media Review and a few Japanese journalists.

Since you've been around the block with blogs and know what's happening on both sides of the Pacific, I'd be curious to hear how you would compare the Japanese blogosphere, say with the Anglophone blogosphere, or more aptly, with the Iranian or the Korean blogospheres.

BTW, this is my first comment here, and I'd just like to say I enjoy reading your blog. Keep up the good work!
