I will say this though - if there was a way I could return this thing, I'd do it in a second, and I'd use the money to buy an amp for my iPod - I like the size of the HD3 and I'm looking forward to the good battery life, but there are so many little things which I find EXTREMELY annoying, I'd rather have the iPod with its anemic bass at this point.Doh!

Um, it was pointed out on slashdot that the guy had a defective unit so his review should basically be ignored.
Got mine yesterday (should be sitting under the xmas tree waiting to be opened but I'm listening to it now :p)
Im very impressed so far, the units easy to use, good sound quality, and its just so sexy.
Sonicstage isnt the greatest piece of software Ive ever used I will admit, only downside Ive found so far. And as for the hissing found in the other review, I havent got that at all.
Which color did you bought??. Does it have blue Lcdlight as the pictures are showing.??
I am going to buy eighter the Red ore the Black player.

I got the black one, and it does have a blue backlight.
After gettin used to the menu system I find it very easy to use and am very impressed overall, it can easily be operated with one hand.
Only thing I dont like is that the 6 bang EQ only works on ATRAC files, for mp3s theres something called 'Digital Sound Preset' which basically lets you up the bass and treble.
Other than that, very happy with it. Had a go on my cousins ipod, which while it is very nice, i still prefer my sony :)

i want to buy NW-HD3 black but i'm not sure how the butteries are, "is it like i-pod in a year or two it dies or you can replace?"
i have nw-s23 and it works very good till now, but i want bigger memmory
