Huh. This looks to be a really nice camera.
It looks like a hybrid between the V1, the S85 and the F828. It has the lens of the V1, the handgrip and shutter release and mode selector of the F828, and is reminiscent of the S85 in shape/size.
Plus it takes CompactFlash like the F828.
What I want in my next camera is something that is faster to startup, and more importantly a faster shutter. My S400, while I love its small size and all-around-goodness, is perceptible slow on startup and noticably slow on shutter (in comparison to film. In comparison to other digicams, the S400 does well.)

I can’t quite understand why anyone would want something like this. It’s going to be expensive. Obviously. If someone is going this far into the prosumer category, why on earth would they choose something with a fixed lens? It seems like if you’re going this far you’d fare better with a real d-slr.
Did you check the prices on Digital SLR’s???!!! This Sony V3 is amazing and it’s affordable. The W1 was amazing so for someone who wants more mega pixels but still likes to keep some things automatic, the V3 is the best choice.
