Remember when Softbank went in with some other big lenders to buy Japan Telecom from Vodafone? Well Son-san is still focusing his laser-like attention on the fat to be cut from the NTT fees that just about everyone in Japan pays for phone service.
Yahoo!BB has the cheapest broadband xDSL service and now with the base telephone service 200 yen cheaper than NTT, you can have communication services in Japan without paying NTT one bloody yen.
Son-san should do a “Switch” campaign like Apple did.

I have serious concerns with Softbank’s handling of the last privacy scandal. Can a company that takes its clients so lightly in the name of rapid expansion survive? I’m sure the company has many “issues” that are not yet apparent but will come to light in the next couple of years.

As I understand it, NTT will continue to control the copper line between the home and the local relay station. A subscriber to the JT service will no longer need to pay NTT directly but instead will pay JT. But in turn JT will need to pay NTT for use of the last mile connectivity. So, in the end NTT will be getting paid indirectly.
Is this how you see it, or have I missed something?
