I really hope I’m right when I assume that by Gatchaman, you’re referring to Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman …who those of us in the U.S. knew under a different name (cue the cheesy music):
“Battle of the Planets! G-Force, 5 incredible young people with superpowers. And watching over them from Center Neptune, 7-Zark-7. That shit is awesome. I watched some Japanese Gatchaman recently – it was quite as good as I remember.

i wrote some some letters to TATSUNOKO PRODUCTIONS
and TATSUNOKO FAN CLUB USA and told both of them
that there should be a big screen live action
version of GATCHAMAN a.k.a. BATTLE OF THE PLANETS
by notifying WARNER BROS. of Hollywood about it
since they’e making a live action SPEED RACER -
movie-based on the 1997 version of the series
now airing on NICK G&E.
Let’s see that ASHTON KUTCHER and ANNE HATHAWAY
play JOE/JASON and JUN/PRINCESS with JOHN DYKS-
TRA working on a CGI GOD PHEONIX along with-
