Notes on Apple’s retail strategy:
- Apple works to make retail stores “community centers”
- Hands-off attitude of staff is critical
- In-store theaters for instruction and training
- 1000/day/store
- 15% of Apple’s revenue come from the retail stores
- All in-store events are free

I dunno about this. I visited the Apple store in Ginza, and it just didn’t strike me a a community place to “hang out”. Ginza is certainly not known as a light communal gathering place, and the hands off approach struck me as being a bit more “feel free to spend as much money as you like, but you’re on your own. I’m just here cause I’m way cool”.
