i own a Sony VAIO desktop and laptop, and an Apple 15″ PowerBook and Cube. as a long-time fan of both brands, i think the author of that article misses the point that both companies are in many ways — especially in the laptop market — appealing to the same demographic. just compare the Sony VAIO TR line to the iBooks for one example.
in general, the author basically states, “i saw some cool stuff to lead me to believe that Sony is trying for a piece of Apple pie.” considering the success of the VAIO brand, Sony has been dishing it up for quite awhile.
