I am currently reeling in amazement at my Macintosh.
I just installed Postfix Enabler, which is a front-end configuration utility for the Postfix SMTP server that is built into the Macintosh. Postfix is a great tool to have enabled in your Mac because it allows you to be your own SMTP server, which, if you are traveling, makes sending email a whole heckuvalot easier than struggling with SMTP-auth servers and configurations.
This is how easy it is to use:
1. Download Postfix Enabler
2. Install Postfix Enabler
3. Enable Postfix via one button
4. Add and select the "localhost" SMTP server in Mail.app
This is how it should be. Quick and easy. I don't want to have to muck around in Terminal, but for those who want to, it is there for you.
This is why I bought this Mac. Would any sane person want to try running Exchange Server on their WinXP laptop? Fuhgeddabout it!
