Hikaru Utada is going to debut in the US as “Utada.”
This is silly. She should have chosen “Hikaru”, like Cher, or Sade, or Madonna, or any of a number of other female singer/songwriters who record professionally on their first names.
She should not have gotten married either, but that is a different discussion.
