One of my best friends is helping to make this open-source distributed search a reality. While I like the fact that it is open-source, I'm not sure what the benefit is for me if I don't use that search engine (I only use Google.) However, I hope that Grub will help additional distributed computing projects gain additional momentum and speed. It's clear that distributed bandwidth/computing will be important in the future, the question is how and who will control that and profit from it?
